My Learning Manifesto Inspired by Famous Quotes- Connie Sharp

Students deserve the opportunity to try new things that stimulate creativity.  Think outside the box, color outside the lines, see what happens!

Play gives students the opportunity to explore, learn, and develop new skills and ideas. 


“The true strength in the classroom lies in the collaboration of learners not in the knowledge of one expert.”  Anonymous

Share knowledge and ideas.  Help students see the value in everyone succeeding.  


“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” Margaret Mead 

It is necessary to model thinking processes out loud for students.  Take a problem, walk them through the learning process so they are not quick to give up.  Help them see it through.

Encourage students to stay open to new ideas- those that are not like their own. Our job is to inspire students to be curious and question things they don’t understand.

Allow students the time to teach others.  Giving them the opportunity to teach others will strengthen their knowledge.  


“Access to computers and the internet has become a basic need for education in our society.” Kent Conrad 

A basic need- not want!  Access to technology and high quality instruction must be a priority to school systems when creating long range plans and balancing budgets.

Students are keenly aware of our feelings toward them- whether positive or negative.  As an educator I believe that all children deserve our utmost respect, encouragement, guidance and affirmation.
